Set up TrendGuard Pro Auto EA
From installation to the tested presets. Every input has a sensible default; most users only change Symbols and the risk %.
1. Install and attach
- Buy, rent or download the free demo on the MQL5 Market. In MetaTrader 5 it appears under Navigator → Expert Advisors → Market.
- Open a chart (e.g. XAUUSD H1) and drag the EA onto it. On the Common tab allow Algo Trading; make sure the Algo Trading button in the toolbar is green.
- On the Inputs tab set the symbols and risk (below), then press OK. The dashboard appears in the top-left corner.
- Keep the terminal running – a VPS is recommended for 24/5 operation.
2. Single symbol or portfolio
The Symbols input decides what is traded.

Signal timeframe is a separate input (default H1), so the chart can show any timeframe. The Supertrend line and arrows are drawn when the chart symbol is traded and the chart is on the signal timeframe.
3. Inputs

4. Tested presets
Gold + Nikkei
Symbols = XAUUSD,JP225, everything else default. Best two-year result (+32,478 USD on 10,000, PF 1.51, max DD 14.2%).
Gold only
Attach to XAUUSD with default inputs. +11,624 USD, PF 1.49, max DD 15.5%.
4-market filtered
Symbols = USDJPY,XAUUSD,USDCAD,JP225, Signal mode = all filters. +11,391 USD, PF 1.97, 116 trades.

5. Good practice
- Start on a demo account and compare with the Strategy Tester before going live.
- Keep risk at 1% per trade or less. With a portfolio, add up the risk of all symbols that can be open at once.
- The journal (Experts tab) explains every skipped signal: session closed, spread, margin, max positions, close-only symbol.
- Test other symbols yourself – most FX pairs and US indices lost with the default settings.
